Now Bones, tissue, cartilage, blood vessels, nerves can be regrown- THE KEY IS STEM CELLS

As we know that nowadays people are suffering from number of incurable diseases for which finding treatment is now no more pain.
With the Stem Cell Technology a New Era has come giving everyone the strength to fight against Life-threatening diseases.
As military doctors in Iraq and Afghanistan have seen more horrific injuries involving skin, nerve, vascular and bone losses from explosions, they have tried to think of what more could be done for the victims besides bandaging things up and hoping for the best.
Maybe they could regrow the tissue: Grow the cartilage, grow the blood vessels, grow the nerves and even grow the bone.
It sounds a bit like science fiction. But it has become reality — including new noses, ears and even thigh bones — sooner than anyone had hoped.
And the key is stem cells — the cells found in all multicellular organisms that can renew themselves through division and morph into a diverse range of other specialized cell types.
Stem cell therapy has the potential to revolutionize the treatment of a variety of human conditions. Rather than addressing the symptoms of a particular disease or condition, stem cell therapy seeks to address the cause of the condition, to effect repair or reversal of the disease state through the regeneration of the affected tissue.
“If we can inject stem cells into the injured area and keep them there, they can help the tissue reform with minimal damage,” said Barbara Boyan, director of the Georgia Tech Center for Advanced Bioengineering for Soldier Survivability. “We have a regeneration capacity.”
Using grants from the Army Institute of Surgical Research and the Armed Forces Institute of Regenerative Medicine, labs at Georgia Tech have regrown nose cartilage, are working on growing much more complex ear cartilage, and have regrown femur bones in 12 weeks.
Stem cell therapy offers particular potential in areas of significant unmet, or poorly met, medical need. Incurable Diseases dramatically reduce quality of life. They consequently represent major healthcare costs, particularly in terms of long-term care. There are no treatments that effectively address the causes of these diseases. Stem cell therapy offers the potential to alleviate the symptoms of, or cure, these diseases and many others.
